The Shuweihat S1 Independent Water and Power Project comprises a “greenfield” power generation and water desalination facility (the “Plant”) currently being built at Jebel Dhana, near Shuweihat, situated about 260 kilometres west of the City of Abu Dhabi, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (the “Project”).

The Shuweihat S1 Project is part of the on-going privatisation programme being undertaken by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in its power and water sector, and is an important part of the Government’s strategy to achieve the objectives of the Emirate’s overall privatisation initiative.
